CHAPTER 37: The Kinetic Stop
The cable went taut within three seconds.
With a terrifying screech of tearing metal, the entire rear suspension of the luxury sedan was violently ripped away from the chassis. The car spun out of control at ninety miles per hour, flipping twice before slamming into a standard drainage ditch at the edge of the runway.
The executive jet, unaware of the destruction behind it, lifted off into the dark sky, leaving its owners behind on the tarmac.
Miller slammed on the brakes, the utility vehicle skidding to a halt twenty feet from the smoking wreckage of the sedan.
