CHAPTER 35: The Pursuit of the Elite
"They're heading for the private airfield!" Arthur shouted through the din of the gunfire, pointing toward a narrow asphalt strip cut into the woods behind the mill. "They have a private transport waiting!"
"Get in!" Agent Miller roared, pulling up beside us in a standard utility vehicle.
Sarah and I threw Arthur into the back seat, jumping in right after him as Miller slammed his foot on the accelerator. The vehicle fishtailed through the mud, pursuing the red taillights of Vance’s sedan through the winding forest path.

The rain had stopped, replaced by a thick, heavy ground fog that made visibility near zero. Up ahead, the silhouette of a small, twin-engine executive jet came into view, its propellers spinning, the landing lights cutting twin tunnels through the fog.
Vance’s sedan tore onto the runway, heading straight for the open cargo ramp of the moving aircraft.
