CHAPTER 36: The Threshold of Flight
"We won't catch them before they reach takeoff velocity!" Miller shouted, his hands white on the steering wheel as the utility vehicle bounced violently over the rough tarmac.
"Yes, we will," Sarah said, her voice dropping to that low, dangerous frequency.
She reached down into the storage compartment of her new prosthesis. Hidden within the inner lining of the structural pylon was a small, high-density magnetic deployment block—a piece of recovery hardware she had designed with the university engineering team for industrial nursing environments.
