Chapter 9

Chapter 9 - JUDGMENT DAYThe federal grand courtroom was packed to maximum capacity. Media cameras lined the hallways outside, eager to capture the fall of one of the city's most prominent elite dynasties. Ethan sat at the defense table, looking pale and disheveled, his expensive suit unable to hide his mounting terror. Behind him sat Eleanor, her face still an icy mask of aristocratic pride, though her hands trembled slightly as she clutched her designer purse. Then, the doors opened. Clara walked into the courtroom, holding her head high, dressed in a stunning, professional navy suit. She looked radiant, powerful, and entirely unbroken. Leo Vance walked by her side, carrying a thick briefcase of absolute destruction.

When Clara took the stand, the room fell into a breathless silence. For the next three hours, her voice didn't waver once. She played the audio recordings of Ethan's drunken rages. She presented the medical reports of her bruises, carefully documented by Leo. But the final nail in the coffin was the financial evidence: a massive, multi-million-dollar offshore money laundering scheme orchestrated by Ethan and fully signed off by Eleanor to hide assets from stockholders.

Ethan broke down, screaming at his lawyers, his mask completely shattered before the judge and jury. Eleanor simply stared at Clara, her eyes wide with the realization that the girl from the suburbs had completely outmaneuvered her.

"The evidence is overwhelming," the federal judge declared, slamming the gavel down with an echo that felt like true liberation. "Ethan Miller and Eleanor Miller, you are hereby remanded into federal custody without bail pending final sentencing for domestic abuse, assault, extortion, and corporate fraud."
