Chapter 10 - THE NEW DAWNZ

Six months later.

The grand opening of Vance Capital Incubator was the event of the season in the Los Angeles technology community.

The converted industrial loft in Silicon Beach was filled with bright lights, modern art installations, and over two hundred guests—investors, engineers, journalists, and ambitious young entrepreneurs.

Large glass walls displayed glowing monitors featuring the first cohort of eight female-led startups funded entirely by Claire’s foundation.

Claire walked through the buzzing crowd, stopping to talk with a young woman named Sarah, who was demonstrating an advanced AI medical diagnostic platform she had developed in her college dorm room.

"Claire, I honestly can't thank you enough," Sarah said, her eyes shining with emotion. "Two months ago, my former business partner tried to push me out of my own equity structure because I refused to sell controlling shares to his family's fund. Your legal team stepped in and saved my company."

Claire smiled gently, placing a hand on Sarah's shoulder. "That's why we're here, Sarah. Never let anyone push you out of a room you built with your own hands."

"To Claire Vance!" a voice called out from the stage.

The crowd turned as Marcus Vance and Victoria Sterling stood near the main podium, raising glass flutes of champagne.

"To the woman who turned betrayal into a powerhouse of opportunity!" Marcus toasted as the room erupted into enthusiastic applause.

Claire smiled and raised her glass back to the crowd.

Later that evening, after the last guests had departed, Claire stepped out onto the top-floor balcony of the incubator building. The cool ocean breeze blew softly through her hair as she looked out at the lights of the city stretching into the horizon.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket. It was a formal notification from her legal portal: Divorce Decree Finalized & Name Restoration Complete.

Her legal name was officially restored to Claire Sterling-Hayes, dropping Ethan’s surname forever.

She looked down at her hands—unadorned, strong, and completely free.

She had built an empire once from a rented room above a dry cleaner. She had defended it against greed, deception, and emotional manipulation. And now, she was building something even bigger—not just for herself, but for generations of women who would follow in her footsteps.

Claire took a deep breath of the clear night air, took a slow sip of her drink, and turned back toward the bright lights of her new office, ready to lead.
