As they sat together in the quiet warmth of the afternoon, Victor, Edward, and Arthur walked out onto the terrace. They had discarded their business suits for casual weekend wear, their faces relaxed and happy.

“Well, sister,” Victor said, raising his glass in a toast. “The Blackwoods have officially declared bankruptcy. Their assets have been fully liquidated, and Sterling Capital has acquired their primary port leases.”

“And the Senatorial Ethics Committee has cleared our family of any conflict of interest,” Arthur added, smiling. “In fact, my approval ratings have never been higher. People love a story of family loyalty.”

Edward smiled, raising his glass as well. “To Vivienne. The sister who showed us that the greatest strength of the Sterling name isn't our money, but our love for each other.”
