Chapter 2

Chapter 2: The Begging at the Altar
The words echoed like a death sentence through the grand outdoor venue.
“Not anymore.”
Ryan’s knees buckled.
The custom tuxedo that made him look like a king just moments ago now felt like a straightjacket. He took a desperate step forward, his hands trembling so violently that the champagne glass finally slipped from his fingers, shattering against the pristine marble floor.
CRASH.
Nobody blinked. Nobody looked at the broken glass. Every eye was locked on Alexander Laurent.
“Mr. Laurent… please,” Ryan begged, his voice cracking, completely stripped of his millionaire arrogance. “I didn’t know. I swear to you, I didn’t know she was your wife! Isabella told me Olivia married a nobody! I had no part in this!”
Isabella’s head snapped toward her fiancé, her eyes widening in betrayal. “Ryan?! What are you saying?!”
“Shut up, Isabella!” Ryan snapped fiercely, turning on her in a panic. “You ruined everything! You and your disgusting pride!”
The wealthy guests watched in absolute fascination.
Phones were subtly raised in the back rows. The perfect, elegant wedding of the year was disintegrating into a public execution, and the bride and groom were already destroying each other to survive.
Isabella turned back to Alexander, her face pale, forcing a desperate, tearful smile. “Mr. Laurent… sir… please understand. It’s a sisterly dynamic. We always tease each other like this. Olivia knows I love her. Don't do this to Ryan. Don't ruin our wedding day.”
Alexander didn't look at Isabella.
His eyes remained fixed on Ryan, cold and unyielding.
“You stood there and laughed while my wife was humiliated,” Alexander said, his voice quiet, yet carrying effortlessly across the silent crowd. “You allowed your fiancée to use my employee status as a weapon to make Olivia feel small.”

He gently squeezed Olivia’s hand, drawing her closer to his side.
“If you cannot protect your own family from cruelty, Ryan, you lack the character to protect my company's assets. You are stripped of your shares. Your security clearance is revoked. You are done.”
